Accounts Assistant - Logistics


Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum, dependent upon experience

Hours: Office Based, 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday

Job type: Permanent, Full time

Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays

We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to work within our Team, processing financial information of the Logistics Department. This is a new and varied role that incorporates elements of both the Sales and Purchase Ledger.


Key accountabilities:

Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger Processing

Posting and allocating payments to Customer accounts

Reconciling Customer Remittances

Credit Control

Raise credit insurance applications

Customer liaison via telephone & email

Supplier Payment Processing cover

Reconciliation of Supplier Statements

Purchase Invoice matching and linking electronically

Nominal Coding and Inputting Purchase Invoices onto the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner

Liaising with suppliers

Monthly Management Reporting

Handling incoming and outgoing post

General Office Duties


Personal Attributes:

2 years’ minimum experience in a similar role essential

Previous experience working in Purchase & Sales Ledger is essential

Competent in using Microsoft Excel, Outlook & Word

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels

Time management skills

Proactive and able to work under own initiative

Attention to detail

A Flexible positive "can do" attitude
