Accounts Assistant – Logistics


Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Hours: Office Based Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30

Job type: Permanent, Full time

Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays

Free on-site parking

We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to work within our Team, processing financial information of the Logistics Department. This is a new and varied role that incorporates elements of both the Sales and Purchase Ledger. 


Key accountabilities:

  • Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger Processing
  • Posting and allocating payments to Customer accounts
  • Reconciling Customer Remittances
  • Credit Control
  • Raise credit insurance applications
  • Customer liaison via telephone & email
  • Supplier Payment Processing cover
  • Reconciliation of Supplier Statements
  • Purchase Invoice matching and linking electronically
  • Nominal Coding and Inputting Purchase Invoices onto the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Liaising with suppliers
  • Monthly Management Reporting
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post
  • General Office Duties


Personal Attributes:

  • 2 years’ minimum experience in a similar role essential
  • Previous experience working in Purchase & Sales Ledger is essential
  • Competent in using Microsoft Excel, Outlook & Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Time management skills
  • Proactive and able to work under own initiative
  • Attention to detail
  • A Flexible positive “can do” attitude
